What Are Orbital Sanders Good For?

There are many uses for orbital sanders that you might never even think of using one for. Here are some pictures of people using them for various projects.

This guy is using an orbital sander to sand what looks like the start of an amazing wood bowl. In this case, he is most likely using the sander to get the shape of the bowl before using a finishing sander to clean it up. You can see his finished wood bowls here. They are pretty spectacular.
This lady is using her orbital sander for a common purpose and that is for DIY projects such as refinishing furniture. In this case, it appears as though she has put a new top on this table and maybe she is sanding it before staining it.
This photo shows a staircase that has been sanded down in preparation for staining, or painting, or whatever. Most likely staining. The people really went to town of these stairs with most likely a powerful orbital sander.
Orbital sanders can also be used for sanding decks before staining them. This is a picture of a deck that appears to have been newly built and is getting ready to be finished off.
Last but not least, orbital sanders are great for removing paint from old windows, furniture, or anything with paint on it really. Just use a rougher sanding pad if the paint is harder to remove, like on a car for instance. In this picture, he is using it to remove the paint from an old window.

As you can see, there are many uses for orbital sanders. These all touched on the DIY uses, but they can also be used in more heavy duty situations such as building homes, refinishing floors, and more.
